Sunrise Journeys launch at Uluru
Uluṟu and Kata Tjuta, Northern Territory – Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia have launched Sunrise Journeys, at Ayers Rock Resort in Uluṟu. An all-new Indigenous laser, light and sound show, the early morning immersive experience will showcase the spiritual heart of Australia and the connection Aṉangu (the Traditional Owners of Uluṟu) have to Country. A collaboration between renowned leading Aṉangu artists and leading visual experience creator, Mandylights, the sensory display will transform the desert landscape into a kaleidoscope of colour and sound. Brought to life with state-of-the-art animation technology, the two-hour Sunrise Journeys experience takes place as the sun rises on Uluṟu. Created in consultation with three female Aṉangu artists, the work titled Ngura Nganampa Wiru Mulapa, translates from Pitjantjatjara to English as “our Country is truly beautiful” and depicts a modern telling of the artists’ shared connection to these lands.
New twelve Apostles Lookout
Great Ocean Road, Victoria – Victoria’s iconic 12 Apostles on the Great Ocean Road can now be marvelled from a spectacular viewing platform. Rising out of the rugged Southern Ocean, the 45m (150ft) tall limestone pillars, located 4.5 hours drive from Melbourne / Narrm, have become a must-visit destination for travellers making their way along the Great Ocean Road. Boasting wide and accessible paths, the new platform was designed by members of the Eastern Maar community to resemble two ‘clapsticks’. Incorporating colours that are reflective of important totemic species to Eastern Maar peoples, the platform opens up new views of the stunning coastline on Keerray Woorroong Country. The revamped viewing area is a partnership between Parks Victoria and the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation, as part of the Victorian Government’s Shipwreck Coast Master Plan.

Nestled in the East Kimberley, the best way to get there is via the town of Kununurra. This experience invites guests to engage deeply with the land and waters and is led by Traditional Owners, the program unfolds with ancient rituals and storytelling traditions passed down through generations. Guests can participate in an ancient healing ritual and pathfinder, and explore the significance of the Coolamon, a carrying vessel that plays a significant role in Aboriginal Australian ‘Motherhood’. Illuminating the profound ties between culture and land, the experience focuses on storytelling and song, sharing the tales and melodies of Injiid, fostering a deeper connection to El Questro’s vibrant cultural tapestry.
